WHEREAS, the Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Inc., formerly International Chamber of Commerce of Albay (ICCA), was founded on August 13. 1904 by a group of Filipino, American, Spanish, Chinese, and English businessmen then operating business in the Province of Albay;

WHEREAS, aside from fostering ethical business relations among its members, the chamber has pioneered in promoting trade and industry in Legazpi City and Albay Province as well as the Bicol Region in general,

WHEREAS, the ACCI is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year on August 13, with a week-long activities from August 8 to August 14, 2004;

WHEREAS, considering its pioneering work in enhancing business in the province and its involvement in many a number of programs and projects to promote trade and industry in the region, particularly in the Province of Albay, it is but fitting and proper to recognize the chamber for its contributions to the progress and development not only of Albay but the Bicol Region as well;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Fernando V. Gonzalez, Governor, Province of Albay, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby, declare the period August 8-14, 2004 as Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Week on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of its founding on August 13, 1904, during which period appropriate activities may be held under its auspices to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the chamber. The commurtity, particularly the local business sector, is enjoined to lend support and cooperation in the successful celebration of ACCI Week.
